Who we are
Kingfisher Dance delivers high quality teaching in both ballet and contemporary dance, alongside other forms of movement such as yoga and PBT. We focus on inspiring those with a real passion for movement and an interest in deepening their knowledge. Our method is founded on utilising methods founded in dance, yoga, and fitness to see progressive results. We also look into the possibility of creativity both in dance and fitness as well as how this can positively impact beyond the studio into everyday life.
Kingfisher Dance hopes to create a unique space where people feel welcome and encouraged to move and aid more people in experiencing the true enjoyment of embodied moving and living.
We are currently based in areas of Fife, and Perth and Kinross offering both weekly classed as well as workshops and experiences.
Looking to the future
As Kingfisher Dance grows and develops we hope to provide many different movement based experiences that brings the professional industry closer to aspiring dancers and movers. A real passion here at Kingfisher Dance is exploring the lines between art forms in interdisciplinary projects, and it is our aim to bring one of a kind workshops and performances displaying the possibilities within this area.
We truly believe anything can inspire the body to move and feel!
Our Founder
Eilidh Robertson is a dancer, choreographer and teacher with a passion for contemporary and ballet. She started dancing from the age of 3 and from early on took her training further by becoming a member of Scottish Ballet Youth Collective, Ballet West, Y Dance and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
In 2020, Eilidh moved to London to study her BA(Hons) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban. During her time there she studied both ballet and contemporary techniques to a high level and worked with choreographers such as Studio Wayne McGregor, Takeshi Matsumoto, and S.A.Y. After completing her undergrad, Eilidh went to complete a Master’s in Dance Performance at the University of Chichester as a member of MapDance. During 2024, the company toured around South England with works by Carrie Whitaker, Sarah Golding, Renau Wiser and Yukiko Masui.
Since graduating, Eilidh has decided to bring her practice back to Scotland and is developing her unique teaching style of contemporary and ballet with added elements of yoga, pilates and strength training. In 2026, Eilidh began her Ashtanga yoga teacher training with Dr Karen Kirkness to deepen her relationship with body and mind.
Eilidh has a choreographic interest in creating interdisciplinary performances that step off the stage, as well as wishing to bring this knowledge to other dancers and creators to help inspire working relations between performers and technicians to step into each other’s roles.
Since being back in Scotland during 2024, Eilidh has performed in the 2025 Fringe with Y Dance as a performer in Project Y Evolution working with choreographers Rhythmosaic. And in summer 2026 attended Scottish Dance Theatre’s summer intensive in Dundee, where Eilidh worked with company members, rehearsal director Charlie Brittain, and artistic director Joan Cleville.
